Miro AI credits: the credit limit on every plan, what actions cost, and add-on pricing

Starter includes 25 AI credits per member per month and Business includes 50. Enterprise uses a pooled allowance by seat tier, starting at 2,500 credits a month for 1 to 50 seats. The Free plan is listed at 10 credits a month for the whole team on miro.com/pricing, while the Help Center article on AI credits now says 25, so plan around the lower number until the two agree.

The per-member figure is how Miro calculates your allowance, not how you spend it. Miro is explicit that credits are pooled and shared: everyone draws from one balance. A ten-person Business team does not get ten separate buckets of 50. It gets one bucket of 500, and the product manager who generates forty prototype screens on Tuesday is spending the facilitator's Thursday workshop budget. Guests and visitors cannot run AI actions at all, so they never touch the pool.

Two details catch admins. First, included credits scale with seats, but Miro only adjusts them on your next billing date, so adding five people mid-month does not raise this month's pool. Second, on Starter and Business the reset follows your renewal date, even on an annual plan: a subscription that renews on March 3 resets its credits on the 3rd of every month. Free, Education and Enterprise reset on the first of the calendar month instead.

Most single actions cost 1 to 5 credits, and the expensive ones are the ones that scale per item. These are the figures from Miro's own consumption table:

Three rules decide the real bill. Credits are spent when Miro generates a result, not when you keep it, so every regeneration costs again and undo refunds nothing. Sidekicks and other prompt-based flows vary with the context you give them and the model used, and Miro says it cannot show the cost of a prompt before you run it. And an error costs nothing: if Miro AI fails to generate output, no credit is taken. Accessibility features such as generated alt text are also free.

On Starter and Business, AI actions pause for the entire team until the pool refreshes. Members can press a button to request more, which emails the admins, but nothing changes until a billing admin or company admin buys credits or upgrades the plan. There is no per-person cap you can set to stop one heavy user draining the pool, which is the single most common complaint in the Miro community threads about credits.

Enterprise works differently. Miro describes the Enterprise allowance as a soft limit, meaning the organization is allowed to go over. The catch is in the next sentence of the same article: if you regularly exceed the allocation, you will need to buy the AI credits add-on. Treat a soft limit as a warning that the conversation with your account team is coming, not as free overage.

On Starter and Business, an admin opens Admin Console, then Billing, then Add more credits, or buys from the dialog that appears when the team runs out. Credits come in organization-wide bundles, with Miro citing 100 or 200 credits as examples, added on top of the monthly allowance. The terms that matter for a budget:

• Billing follows your plan. A bundle takes your plan's billing period, currency and renewal. On a yearly plan it renews yearly, and yearly add-on pricing carries a 20 percent discount. You cannot put an add-on on monthly billing while the plan is yearly.
• Mid-cycle purchases are prorated and the credits are available immediately.
• Bundles do not roll over either. They reset monthly like included credits, and they are not affected when you add or remove seats.
• Cancel any time, and the credits stay until the end of the billing period. They disappear if you downgrade to Free or cancel.
• Not available on Free, Education, or during a Business trial. You need an active paid subscription.

Miro does not publish the bundle price outside the purchase screen, so the only honest number to plan with is the one your Admin Console shows. Buy credits if the AI is the only thing you are short of. Upgrading from Starter at $8 to Business at $20 costs $12 per member per month on yearly billing and adds 25 credits per member. As a way to buy credits, that is about $0.48 a credit: a ten-person team pays $120 a month more for 250 extra credits.

The upgrade makes sense when the credits are a side benefit. Business adds Sidekicks and Flows in full (Starter gets the general Sidekick and a maximum of 5 Flow runs per member), single sign-on, guests who can edit rather than only view and comment, unlimited workspaces and Prototypes. One more trap for teams that have been on Business for a while: Miro replaced the legacy Business plan with Business + AI Workflows. Legacy Business customers get only the default Sidekick and 5 Flow runs per member, and that count never resets. If your Business team says AI Workflows stopped working, check whether you are still on the legacy plan before you buy a single credit.

Enterprise pools one allowance across the organization, set by seat tier. Miro's table, dated March 2, 2026, runs from 2,500 credits a month for 1 to 50 seats, 5,000 for 51 to 100, 10,000 for 101 to 200 and 15,000 for 201 to 300, up to 200,000 for 6,001 seats and above. Because the tiers are stepped, the credits per seat swing widely: 30 seats on the Enterprise minimum get about 83 each, 50 seats get 50 each, the same as Business, and 51 seats jump to about 98 each.

That step matters in a negotiation. If your seat count sits just below a tier boundary, the next seat can double the organization's pool. Ask your account team where your count sits in the table before you settle the number, and remember the allowance adjusts to your paid seat count on the next billing date, not immediately.

Look at what your pool actually buys. An eight-person Starter team shares 200 credits a month. A single workshop that uses ten Sidekick prompts (20 credits), generates forty sticky notes (40), draws two diagrams (10), writes a summary Doc (2) and builds a ten-slide readout (50) spends 122 credits, more than half the month, and every regeneration in that session is billed again.
