Refund policy
Effective: October 14, 2026
Brainstormer bills each company workspace for a period, and that payment is not returned. There are three exceptions, set out in section 3. Before paying you can run the demo challenge on the homepage and the one-time trial inside a new workspace, and you can stop future renewals from the billing page whenever you choose.
1. What the subscription pays for
Team, Business and Enterprise are subscriptions to a shared ideation workspace, billed yearly or monthly with the seats and limits listed on the pricing page. The fee covers the workspace being open to your team for the period. It is not charged per challenge, per idea or per score, and the whole period is available from its first day whether your team runs one session or fifty.
Subscribing is a request that we begin the service at once. Where a statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period would otherwise apply, you acknowledge that it lapses when we start providing the service at your request.
2. Requests we decline
We do not return all or part of a payment when:
- your team's priorities moved on, the project ended or you no longer need the workspace;
- few or no challenges were run during a paid period, or not every seat was used;
- a renewal was charged, including one that went through after earlier attempts failed;
- someone assumed the plan was a one-time purchase, even though the pricing page, checkout, confirmation email and billing page all show that it renews;
- renewal was not switched off in time, or was switched off right after it happened;
- you disagree with the AI's suggestions, clusters or idea scores. They are starting points your team evaluates, and their quality depends on the brief and the input you give;
- a decision your company took on the basis of an idea did not work out;
- a feature you expected does not appear on the pricing page;
- the wrong plan, seat count or billing period was chosen;
- time is left on a period after cancelling, since access lasts to the end and is never pro-rated;
- the workspace was used by people you invited or gave a login to.
3. The three exceptions
A charge is reversed only in one of these situations, and only where it is supported by our account records and the payment record:
- Duplicate billing. Our billing charged the same workspace twice for the same period.
- A proven unauthorised payment. The card was used without the cardholder's permission, this is reported to us within 14 days of the charge, and the evidence confirms it. An assertion by itself does not decide the claim, and we may ask you to confirm you have told your card issuer.
- A total outage. A confirmed fault on our side left Brainstormer completely unusable for an unbroken period, you reported it to us as it happened, and we could not resolve it. Slowness, a single failed generation, or issues with your own network, browser or single sign-on provider are excluded.
A refund is limited to the amount paid for the affected period, is returned to the card used, and is the full extent of our liability for that charge. One refund does not create a right to another.
4. Raising a request
Email [email protected] from the workspace owner's address within 14 days of the charge, stating the date, the amount and which exception applies. Late requests and requests sent by other routes are not considered. We review them in the order they arrive and do not reopen one we have declined.
5. Cancelling, renewals and declined cards
The workspace owner can cancel on the billing page at any time, without contacting us. Cancelling switches off future renewals and your team keeps access until the paid period ends. It does not reverse a payment already made, and it does not count as a refund request.
Subscriptions renew automatically. At the start of each period the workspace opens for the whole of it and that period's fee is due. If the card is declined, the fee remains due and our payment operator tries again over the following days; those attempts settle one unpaid invoice and are not additional charges. Cancelling after a period has started stops the renewals that follow, not the fee for the current period, even when it is collected late. Cancel before the renewal date on the billing page to avoid the next charge.
6. Our records and chargebacks
Creating a workspace means accepting our terms of service, which include this policy, and our privacy policy. Checkout states the plan, price, billing period and automatic renewal before payment.
For each subscription we keep the purchase time, the plan and price shown, the acceptance of our terms, the emails we sent and an activity log of the workspace (sign-ins, members invited, challenges created, ideas added and scored) with the technical details recorded alongside. Our payment operator keeps its own record of every charge, including the card's issuing country, where the payment originated and the result of bank authentication such as 3D Secure.
We assess unauthorised-charge claims against these records. If a charge seems wrong, talk to us first. A chargeback filed without contacting us breaches our terms; we send the records above to the card issuer and close the workspace permanently.
7. Earlier subscriptions
Payments made before October 14, 2026 stay under the terms that applied on the day they were made.
