Platform
Idea management platform for a company-wide program
An idea management platform is the shared place where a whole company submits, evaluates and decides on ideas. In Brainstormer that place is one company workspace with clear roles, ongoing challenges, AI that expands and scores ideas against your strategy, and a record of every decision.
-
One workspace per company with goals, members and challenges
-
Owner, admin and member roles with clear responsibilities
-
Ongoing program, not a one-off campaign
-
Self-serve setup, card payment, invitations by email
What a platform adds over a form and a spreadsheet
Most companies start collecting ideas with a form feeding a spreadsheet. It works for the first fifty ideas. Then it breaks: nobody owns the list, duplicates pile up, submitters never hear back, and there is no way to compare ideas from different departments on the same terms.
A platform fixes the structure. Every idea belongs to a challenge, every idea has a stage, every stage change is logged, and every idea is scored against the same strategic goals. People from sales, operations and engineering work in the same workspace and see the same pipeline. If you are still comparing categories of tools, the idea management tools overview walks through the options by company size.
| Role | Typical person | What they do in the workspace |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | Head of innovation, COO or founder | Pays, sets up the workspace, manages every setting |
| Admin | Program lead, HR or ops manager | Opens challenges, runs reviews, moves stages, builds reports |
| Member | Any employee | Submits ideas, votes, follows the stage of each idea |
Setting up the company workspace
Setup takes one sitting. The owner creates the workspace, writes a short description of the company, and adds three to six strategic goals with weights, for example "reduce customer churn" at 40 percent, "lower cost to serve" at 30 and "launch a new product line" at 30. These goals are what AI uses to score every idea, so they are worth an honest conversation with leadership.
Next, the owner invites admins and members by email. Admins open the first challenges, each with a question, a description and a deadline. Members join from the invitation link and can start submitting right away. Payment is by card, and nobody needs a call to get started.
Running the platform as an ongoing program
A platform earns its place when it runs all year. A common rhythm is one or two company-wide challenges each quarter, plus smaller department challenges when a specific problem comes up. Team allows 3 open challenges at a time, while Business and Enterprise have no limit.
Inside each challenge the work is the same. AI expands short submissions into a problem, a solution, a first step and a success measure, detects duplicates and merges them with authors and votes kept, and groups ideas into themes. Admins review the shortlist, move ideas through the stages, and close the challenge with a board report. The process behind those stages is described on the idea management system page.
For facilitated sessions, the AI workshop runs one strategic question through six perspectives, and its output can be sent into a challenge as ideas.
